The Woodlands Arts Council is excited to present a 3 day pop up exhibition in their Grogan’s Mill location of The Woodlands. Artist Annette Palmer will be present to meet guests and showcase a range of her semi-abstract paintings. These works are inspired by the environments of her native Scotland and her home in Texas, where distance meets connection.
“My work brings memories to life. By exploring the energy of connections across vast dreamlike spaces, I envisage the possibility of another soul in the distance and wonder if they are mirroring my thoughts. Despite these painted locations being uninhabited, except for the occasional bird, these paintings feel like home. Relationships and love are integral; flight is the course across the horizon.
My introspective process includes the encounter of experimental and established techniques, elements of collage and the use of vintage papers and reflective fragments, they represent optimism, memories, hopes, dreams and spirits. Painting the past, present, the heart.” Palmer states.
A selection of paintings, smaller matted original works and prints will be available for purchase, with a portion being donated to The Woodlands Arts Council.
