About TWAC

The Woodlands Arts Council is a 501(c)3 Non-profit operating out of The Woodlands, Texas. Our mission is to provide regional cultural and educational enrichment opportunities that encourage, support and promote the performing and visual arts. We believe the arts can open the doors of our minds, strengthen character, heal the body and foster an appreciation of other cultures.

Festival Interns: January - April

For the past 19 years we have produced The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival every April. Hosting over 200 fine artists from around the world along our waterway, the event is our largest fundraiser for our Student Art Scholarship Program, Microgrant Program and Public Art Program. We have recently been named the #1 Art Festival in Texas.

  • 10 hour/week commitment
  • Must be a college student or recent college graduate
  • All festival interns are required to work The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival April 12-14, 2024
  • Application closes October 13

Intern Responsibilities by Division

Interns report to specific staff members; all interns, however, will assist staff in the production of the event and its programs as needed. This includes participating in occasional after-hours art events, with duties including event setup, registration, and clean-up.

Event Production Intern

  • Working with the Operations Coordinator & Event Coordinator, this intern will learn about coordinating volunteers, logistics efforts, and venue set up and breakdown at the nationally recognized The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival.
  • Must be able to lift 15-20 lbs.
  • Valid Texas Drivers License
  • Must be able to think on your feet and problem solve

Sponsor Relations Intern

  • Working directly with the Event Coordinator, this intern will gain experience in sponsor asset management and sponsor fulfillment at The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival. Additionally, they will also learn about non-profit administration.
  • Must be personable and outgoing
  • High level of proficiency in the Google Drive environment
  • Must possess superior oral and written communication skills
  • Must be able to think on your feet and problem solve
