The Woodlands Arts Council Celebrates Abundance With Record-Setting Festival Traffic

05/10/2022

The Woodlands, TX—(May 10, 2022) – Fidelity Investments The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival attracted record-setting crowds during its 17th annual event, held April 9 & 10 along The Woodlands Waterway and in Town Green Park. More than 23,000 people attended the juried arts festival which featured the original artwork of 200 artists in a wide variety of artistic styles and mediums, along with live music, food and beverages, children’s hands-on art activities and fun for all ages.

“In addition to an incredible array of art and music, we had beautiful spring weather throughout the weekend,” said Jenny Carattini-Wright, Executive Director of The Woodlands Arts Council. “Our Featured Artist, Guilloume, created a painting titled ‘Celebrating Abundance’ and it was so appropriate for this year’s festival. We had our first title sponsor, Fidelity Investments, along with many other generous sponsors, an extremely talented group of artists from across the country, hundreds of dedicated volunteers, and thousands of attendees who appreciate the arts and their value to our community. This is “abundance” in its truest form, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to all who celebrated with us!”

In addition to being a jewel of the Texas arts tour and consistently voted “Best Event in The Woodlands”, The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival and the Art Dash Party are fundraisers for year-round arts education programs and art scholarships in the community. To date, The Woodlands Arts Council has awarded more than $300,000 in scholarships since its inception. All festival proceeds go towards educational outreach.

Major sponsors of this year’s festival include Title Sponsor Fidelity Investments, The Howard Hughes Corporation, The Woodlands Compounding Pharmacy, Stella Artois and The Judith K. Wren Foundation.

The Woodlands Arts Council provides regional, cultural, and educational enrichment opportunities that encourage, support and promote the visual and performing arts in our community. From the award-winning Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival to public art installations and the year-round community and educational outreach programs of Because Art Matters, the council has one primary goal….making our community better,

Because Art Matters!
