Microgrant Program

The Microgrant Programs -including The Dr. David Gottlieb Education Microgrant and The Performing Arts Microgrant in partnership with The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion– enable and support artistic projects within The Woodlands and Montgomery County, making a lasting impact with over $210,000 in funding since 2021.

Student Art Scholarship

For two decades, the Student Art Scholarship Program has been a cornerstone of The Woodlands Arts Council’s mission, fostering artistic talent and supporting students in their pursuit of higher education. Guided by the Because Art Matters committee, the program has awarded 282 scholarships to graduating seniors.

Public Art Program

Nearly 40 Art Benches, Bike Racks, and a Mural have been commissioned and installed by The Woodlands Arts Council in partnership with The Woodlands Township. Spanning The Woodlands Mall, Town Green Park, Hughes Landings, and Rob Fleming Park, these pieces have been designed by local, national, and international artists and underwritten by local companies and individuals. This ongoing initiative makes The Woodlands home to one of Texas’ largest public art collections.

Young Makers Market

A unique program that gives students in grades 3–12 (ages 9–18) the chance to experience what it’s like to be a working artist. Before the big day, students participate in workshops focused on marketing, leadership, and entrepreneurship. It’s a fun, hands-on way for students to grow as artists and explore their creative potential.

Senior Art Program

The Woodlands Arts Council seeks to provide art experiences & workshops to seniors in Montgomery County. We are excited to partner with Interfaith The Woodlands in the fall of 2025 to bring workshops and art kits to seniors with limited visual arts access in our community.

Student Art Ambassador Program

The Student Art Ambassador Program recognizes emerging young artists and provides meaningful opportunities to explore creativity, leadership, and community engagement throughout the school year. Through workshops and immersive arts experiences, students connect with peers, professional artists, and the broader arts community.
