The Woodlands High School Art Trust - Framing Display & Lighting

With the help of The Woodlands Arts Council, the TWHS student-selected art collection continues to grow with meaningful impact across campus. Five additional student-selected works were added through this support, bringing the collection to 76 pieces as of January 1, 2026. After being temporarily removed during campus renovations, the collection was reinstalled in August 2025, and new gallery lighting installed in January 2026 has enhanced the display, creating a more museum-like experience for viewers.

As enrollment turns over by about 25% each year, more than 5,800 students and staff experienced the collection in the most recent cycle alone. Since 2012, it has reached over 17,000 individuals, making it one of the most widely viewed art experiences on campus.

What makes this project unique is that students—not adults—select the artwork, giving them true ownership of the collection’s vision. Student-led tours further deepen engagement, as high school students guide younger visitors through the gallery. This ongoing project continues to shape a campus culture where student voice and artistic expression are highly visible and valued.
