Wilkerson Intermediate School fosters a stained glass project during which students are granted the opportunity to create their very own stained glass masterpieces through a multiweek process. After learning about the scientific process of stained glass art and electing an ecosystem to base their piece on, they create rough drafts, finalize sketches, transfer the sketches to the glass pieces, and finally assemble their art together.
With funding from the Dr. David Gottlieb Education Microgrant, Wilkerson Intermediate will be able to purchase the necessary materials to go forward with this creative stained glass endeavor. Combining scientific education with artistic freedom will foster passionate learning and artistry from the students at Wilkerson, and they will then have the opportunity to display their artworks in the school’s Art Show.
