As a part of the Caney Creek High School Orchestra program, a large group of students are on the musical journey of mastering the cello. With 26 projected incoming students into the Orchestra next year, all of whom play the cello, their need for a greater supply of cellos is evident. Being a part of a musical community enriches education by allowing students to express themselves through music on top of receiving a quality education.
The Dr. David Gottlieb Education Microgrant will be utilized to provide a higher quantity of cellos to account for the influx of students that will be enrolled in the high school orchestra during the 2025-2026 school year. The newly purchased cellos will be a more advanced model that will allow the students to mature as musicians without the limitations of an older instrument.
