The wireless microphones provided through this grant have greatly improved the quality of performances across campus. "Sound is now crisp, balanced, and evenly distributed throughout the auditorium, eliminating previous “dead zones,” said Choir Director Giovanna Nieto. Students have shared that they can finally hear themselves clearly, with soloists noting that their voices “actually sound like them,” which has increased their confidence and performance quality.
The microphones have also expanded movement and flexibility on stage. Performers and staff are no longer restricted by wires, allowing for more dynamic presentations and stronger audience engagement. The removal of cords has also improved safety and made setup and teardown much easier. Beyond performances, the microphones have been used during pep rallies, where student leaders move through the crowd to engage and energize their peers. Staff have also utilized them during meetings and training, improving clarity and communication. This grant has enhanced both performances and everyday school events, benefiting students and staff across Travis Intermediate.
