The Woodlands Arts Council awarded me a microgrant to attend NAEA 2023 in San Antonio. Their support helped cover my hotel and conference registration, making it possible for me to attend all three days.
Attending the workshops and training sessions was an inspiring and meaningful experience. I returned to my classroom with fresh ideas, new perspectives, and renewed excitement for teaching art. The lessons I learned have shaped my students' art experiences and inspired creative exploration in my classroom. I continue to reflect on what I learned at NAEA and find new ways to bring those experiences to my students, encouraging them to create with confidence, curiosity, and joy.
