Artist Bio
Originally from Scotland, Annette Palmer now lives in Magnolia, Texas where she creates her collectable fine art pieces for gallery exhibitions and private collections. Her semi abstract paintings are inspired by relationships, distance and the spaces in-between.
Her formal art education took place at Edinburgh College of Art/Heriot Watt University, in Scotland’s capital, graduating with a BA Honors degree in 1989. Annette went on to travel, eventually running her own design company in Singapore. Since returning “home” to Texas in 2006, Annette taught in many of The Woodlands private schools, as well as teaching adults from her studio.
In addition to a lengthy exhibiting history which includes solo shows at Houston’s Jung Center, Archway Gallery, The Woodlands Arts Council Gallery and Glade Gallery in The Woodlands, she has also showcased her work internationally.
Annette has curated for art galleries and exhibition spaces, including Glade Gallery, Archway Gallery, and The Woodlands Arts Council. As well as painting and curating, she has served as a juror for numerous art competitions and is a published arts writer. She is a featured artist in the book “50 Artists Houston” Vol II and was a finalist in The Woodlands High School Art Trust.
