Last year I had the distinct honor of showing my patterns on scarves and clothing in the first Texas Fine Craft Show, which was held November 1-3, 2024. After the tear down and packing up, I was thrilled to add up the number of sales. I don’t think my feet touched the ground for several days afterwards. I felt energized, inspired and validated that my artwork had been well received-what a blessing it was to be included as a vendor.
Another blessing this past year has been the non-stop avalanche of inspiration from birds/trees/flowers/leaves and structures of churches/bridges/buildings. So I will be back for the second Texas Fine Craft Show, armed with 40 new patterns, printed on beautiful scarves, apparel and framed art pieces.
With my camera handy, I walk nature trails, city streets, ancient churches, never knowing what I will find. Piles of leaves in a gutter in front of Parisian cemetery, old broken seashells found in my desk drawer, multi-colored hydrangeas at Home Depot-have all found their way into my photos and then into my patterns. Each pattern tells a story, hopefully evoking a smile and an “Ah Ha!” moment from viewers like you. And due to the marvel of print-on-demand, I can translate that story effortlessly onto clothing to scarves to home decor.
I am looking forward to this year’s show. For me, the most enjoyable way to sell is Face to Face, telling the story behind the patterns, explaining the product process and the advantages for the viewer to buy from us artists direct. I would be so honored if you came to see me in Booth #306.
I know The Woodlands Arts Council has put together another incredible group of very talented artists, in a beautiful setting at the Marriott, and promoted the event far and wide. See you soon!
