Snyder Elementary School has an initiative in printmaking that engages students from 2nd through 4th grades in printing different designs in a wide range of colors with a variety of supplies. Students are able to experiment with one-of-a-kind prints, layering paint to create new colors and textures, and experiment with printing using natural materials like leaves.
The Dr. David Gottlieb Education Microgrant will allow Snyder Elementary to purchase new gelli plates, brayers, print foam, and acrylic paint to fuel future printmaking projects for their young artists. These high quality reusable supplies will allow current students of Snyder Elementary to engage in the artistic endeavor of printmaking, but also multitude of classes of future students.
