Students at Oakridge High School are community leaders and well rounded individuals that brighten the campus. Striving for excellence and improvement each day, these students work constantly to expand their knowledge and step out of their comfort zones. As a part of this challenge, many students are involved in the ORHS Choir program which envelops students into the musical arts. This rigorous course involves vocal exercise, aural training, sight-singing, and rehearsal on music that will be performed at upcoming events.
In partnership with The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, Oakridge High School will be able to use the Performing Arts Microgrant, to purchase new SMART books, a method 1 book integral to the choir curriculum. These new books will replace the old rotation of books that have been worn down from years of continuous use and knowledge passed down through students. With these refreshed materials, Oakridge will continue to emphasize a striving initiative for excellence in providing their students with the opportunity to participate in the art of music.
