Unlike most glass you see, my glass art has 3 dimensional aspects in each kiln fired casting. Each piece is created by using multiple layers of opaque and transparent sheet glass , multiple colors & textures of glass frit, and color glass stringers. Each piece goes through several stages of high temperature kiln firing. The final firing is a face down composition in which I layer each color and texture of glass creating depth in each casting. The final piece is an organic impressionistic cast glass image with visual depth & texture. It is very difficult to capture the beauty and depth of my work in a photograph. I frame each glass piece in two different ways. I use black museum framing with linen matting or a sculptural frame using metal and reclaimed wood. Each glass casting has a visual depth to the composition that draws you in and brings quiet beauty to our chaotic world.
