Jenny Carattini-Wright, who has admirably served in a variety of
positions with The Woodlands Arts Council since its inception, has taken
the helm of the organization as its Executive Director. Most recently,
she was Interim Development Director this year, and prior to that was
Festival Director of The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival from
2011-2016. During her tenure as Festival Director, she led the team in
ranking among the top five arts festivals in the country. The event
quickly became one of the most sought-after fine arts festivals in the
nation for both artists and attendees.
"We are pleased to recognize the incomparable performance put forth
by Jenny on behalf of our organization," said Dr. Maria Holmes,
President of the Board of Directors. "Her natural leadership abilities,
high energy work style, and passion for the arts and education make her
the ideal choice for our new Executive Director."
Jenny brings over 30 years of experience from the hospitality,
event and non-profit world to The Woodlands Arts Council. Jenny joined
the ranks of an elite group of event industry professionals completing a
program as a Certified Festival & Events Executive (CFEE) in 2013
from the International Festival & Events Association. In 2015, she
completed the Certified Non-Profit Executive Program from the Leadership
Institute for Non-Profit Executives at Rice University.
"I have been a resident of The Woodlands for over 30 years, and I
consider leadership of The Woodlands Arts Council to be a great honor,"
Jenny said. "There is much to look forward to. On April 4 and 5, 2020 we
will celebrate the 15th year of the award-winning Woodlands Waterway
Arts Festival. I am extremely excited to be a part of bringing the fine
arts to my hometown and beyond, both through the festival and the
cultural and education programs and scholarships the festival funds each
year. "
The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival will be celebrating its 15th
Anniversary in 2020. Set for April 4 and 5, this juried event features
more than 200 artists who display their original works along The
Woodlands Waterway and in Town Green Park. For more information about
